Festival of the Sun's Rebirth Pt 2

This festival is celebrated with a feast hosted by the whole village, with most dishes including preserved foods such as jams, jellies, pickled foods, honeys, as well as a flavorful herb that blooms on the day of the winter solstice, making it an elusive ingredient that must be dried from the last year or picked just before the feast.

Quite a few villages make an event out of gathering this herb, rewarding whoever can gather the most before the feast is cooked with the first dish of the feast, and a gift from the lord of the village. After the feast when night falls, the villagers all gather together and watch for a fallen star. When the first star of the night falls they watch where it falls, then they light candles and lanterns, marching towards where the star fell. Once the stars stop falling they create a small shrine to Solaris, offering all of their light to the sun king, to aid in his revival.

The Cult of the Blind Sun

A religious group branching off from the Church of Solaris (a sun deity). Their primary belief is based around the idea that during solar eclipses, Solaris is temporarily 'blinded' and in this time he is vulnerable to attacks both from both the celestial and material. They believe that the church of Solaris is corrupt and that it need to be brought down. And what simpler way is there to crumbling a religious organization but to kill their god and replace it with one of your choice? Thus it is the mission of the Cult of the Blind Sun to travel to the celestial plane in which Solaris resides, and kill him.

During solar eclipses it is much easier for lesser beings to plane shift, or otherwise travel, into his plane and attempt to do him harm. While he is 'blinded', those who draw power from him will not be able to access most of their power if they solely draw their magic from Solaris or any celestials solely affiliated with the Sun.

Those afflicted with Lycanthropy will transform into their beast forms and have disadvantage on a DC 25 sanity check (Intelligence) if exposed to the shadow of the moon during the eclipse.
