Much of the uninhabited open expanse of the central planes is colloquially referred to as the howling planes. On quite nights in the planes a faint shrill note can be heard all across the grasslands, with a seemingly indistinguishable origin. Locals say that if you end up alone in the planes on one of these nights, you must be cautious of mysterious creatures that will stalk you through the night, lying in wait for you to bed down to strike. Many towns have mounted expeditions to seek out and slay these creatures, but no group has ever managed to find the creatures, let alone slay one. Those that have survived these creatures often have large scars covering their body, most commonly near their faces, necks and chests.

A bright pink and red grass that grows throughout Falyimoar, though particularly common around the nests of Red Dragons . This grass thrives in locations that have recently burned, sprouting new life after just a few weeks. Due to the nature of rising from the ashes of desolated lands this plant is often associated with the god of rebirth Lathander, as the phoenix grass brings new live to the land. Because of this connection with rebirth, phoenix grass is commonly used in salves, and healing potions, supposedly being particularly affective and healing burns.
