Devlutte is one of the only cities on the whole of Falyimoar to stay lit up during the night, this is thanks to an invention made by the Arcane Smiths, a guild of artificers located with in the city. Many years ago, Devlutte went through a massive growth in size and commerce, this growth came not without its fair share of growing pains however.
In the early days when the city was first growing large crime was rampant, with gangs of thieves gathering together and extorting the unorganized merchants of the city. Realizing that this high crime rate would lead to a decline in trade with neighboring cities, the merchants of the city gathered together and formed into guilds as a means to better protect goods and merchants alike.
Following this change there was a noticeable change in how the gangs would operate, instead of simply extorting a merchant for 'protecting' them, they turned to heists, where they would break into warehouses at night under cover of darkness and steal as much as they could before slipping away into the night. After years of battling on and on with these groups of thieves, the Merchants Guild decided they needed a way to stop these break ins from happening, and so they hired a newly formed but quickly growing guild to find them a solution.
After months of development the Arcane Smiths had invented a way to light up large swaths of the city by illuminating the tops of special towers, making it just brighter that a full moons nights. These towers shine a constant light during the night, illuminating the sky so that darkness never falls on Devlutte.
Day 39
A thick deep red fog that engulfs much the eastern coast lines. Some say that the fog is the edge of the world, and that if you sail into its walls you will fall into a different world, while others claim that it hide an ancient treasure from long before even the age of giants. Many brave, or perhaps foolhardy sailors have sailed into the fog, few have returned, fewer returned with their minds. Those that survived the fog tell of an island with a massive chasm taking up most of its land.
They say that when you get close to the island you feel drawn towards it, and compelled to descend into the great abyss that lies with in it. Once you enter its depth the calling from the chasm becomes so intense that it you attempt to turn back and climb your way back out, it feels as though your body is fighting your mind with every step you take, urging you to turn back and descend once again.
Day 40
The capital city of Burgdalin, this city was originally a farming town in the central planes of Falyimoar. Because of the vast reaches of arable planes surrounding the town and a river running near by, it quickly grew into a small city. To defend against invaders the city put up stone walls around its borders. Each time the population outgrew the city walls they would build another ring of walls, eventually ending up with 7 currently standing walls. Most of the walls that were built early on have since been demolished as they no longer served any purpose.
