Across Astea there exists 6 gates to the Nine Hells that appear as great chasms filled with eternal flame, though many remain undiscovered by the inhabitants of Astea. According to the tales of sailors who escaped The Crimson Fog tell tales of one such chasm lying in wait behind its fog. This chasm is fabled to be one of the sources of The River Styx, which snakes its way all through the Nine Hells.
Day 125
An Ancient Red Dragon that nests in the magma chamber of the volcano that Emberstead rests upon. Imid has caved out many chambers in the volcano to store his hoard, feed and spawn hatchlings, consequently increasing the volcanic activity in the area. The denizens of Emberstead pay tribute to Imid once per decade to revitalize the protective barrier that protects them from the volcanos frequent eruptions. These tributes come in the form of offerings of gold, jewels, knowledge, livestock, and under exteme circumstances, people.
Day 126
A city of scholars and sailors built up on the back of an Ancient Dragon Turtle that is roughly the size of a large island. In return for harboring them, they supply the Ancient Dragon Turtle with sustenance, keeping it alive, and protect it from disease, parasites and attackers. The Ancient Dragon Turtle is known as Larkos the Gracious, reflecting their generous and forgiving nature. Many seek out a chance to learn from the wise Larkos, some traveling all across the world hoping for a chance to speak with about the ways of the world. The island upon Larkos' back is bountiful, with diverse ecology not found anywhere else on Astea. Larkos is tens of thousands of years old, and has seen the rise and fall of many civilizations throughout the millenniums.
