Beekin

A sentient race of nearly humanoid people that resemble honey bees in both behavior and appearance. They have bug-like eyes, legs and wings, but an upper body similar to that of an elf, with long pointed ears and sharp facial features. These people typically gather in large colonies, ruled over by a lone queen, whom they will slaughter should she fall from grace. The Beekin often work together with farmers to cultivate crops, using the pollen they collect to create large amounts of honey, which they can then use or sell away. These people can be found all across Astea, most often living near farming towns and villages.

Armor Mussels

A species of terrestrial mussels that live inside of abandoned or lost armor instead of a typical shell. When these mussels live inside of a full let of armor together they gradually learn how to move the armor as if by a person, eventually becoming capable of armed combat. Their progress is furthered quicker if the armor they inhabit is already possessed or enchanted to move. These mussels are most commonly found in warm humid climates, but have been observed to migrate in search of more suitable environments or for better hunting grounds.

Emberstead

A mystical town rumored to be build upon the cliffs of an active volcano in the mountains south of the Central Plains, though no one has been able to find it for many years. Emberstead is a town built up out of the ruins of an ancient fortress that was abandoned long ago, yet the magical barrier that shields the town from the volcanos rath is still operational, but weakening. The citizens of this town mainly worship the Ancient Red Dragon Imid, who makes his den in the heart of the volcano. Every 10 years the townsfolk must make a sacrifice to Imid, in exchange he revitalizes the barrier that protects the town.
