Thousands of years ago, the three gods of the mortal skies were born to govern their domains. The Moon, the Sun, and the Stars. The Sun and the Moon quickly became enemies that would fight over who could rule the sky. Often they would orchestrate mortals to wage wars on their behalf, leading to periods of lasting darkness or light. The Stars, distant and impartial, did nothing but watch as the other gods squabbled for control of the skies.

The Stars, tired of the constant meaningless slaughter, demanded that the bloodshed must stop. It was time the two made peace, far to many had perished on their behalf, and the constant struggle for control caused to much chaos. The Moon and the Sun were reluctant at first, continuing to fight for a time, but possessing more control over the skies than the other two, they had no choice but to concede. They finally agreed, and with the help of the gods of the land and stars, they established balance to the land, replenishing life to the continent. This reformed land came to be called Phaedra.

After many years of peace, a woman named Mistheline snuck into the castle of the gods, slaughtered their disciples, and disappeared before dawn. Bewildered by the sudden attack the gods spent all of their effort on finding the culprit, but none was found. With their safety in jeopardy the gods came to the consensus that making a safe haven was the only way they had to be sure they would all be safe. But to prevent further deaths in their absence, the three gods in the sky devised a plan. Written into the stars in the language of the gods, '1,000 years shall pass, before two beings would descend to the land and defeat the adversary of the gods. The Child of the Sun, and the Child of the Moon. Should these children perish before defeating the adversary, they shall be born again after many centuries.'

The Stars began working on gathering a following of mortals soon after the shelter of the gods was finished, giving rise to the Children of the Stars, an order who knew that one day, it would be their job to guide the Sun Child and the Moon Child to safety.

Meanwhile, Mistheline had been growing a following of her own; the Mistheli. Contrary to the Children of the Stars, it was the Mistheli's mission to slay the children of Sun and Moon, and one day, eliminate the gods and take their power to mold the world into a better place for the mortals who had to live in it.

Divine Relics are relics, made by any of the gods, to release or store a large amount of power into an object. After spending long periods of time without using their powers to their full extent, the gods would have surges of overwhelming magical energy that could cause incomprehensible damage to themselves, the celestial plane they inhabit and the material plane. To prevent these calamities the gods have to use their power, by sharing it with their followers, or by condensing it into powerful objects. These objects can take on any form, from a diminutive pebble to a towering mountain. Because of the great range in how these object appear they can be difficult to identify or discover until their power is unleashed. Due to the nature of these relics they are most commonly created lesser know gods who need a way to vent off their power and by large gods looking to store their power so that they may retrieve when they are in need of it.
