The legal consumption of alcohol throughout Falyimoar is extremely varied with many states having different ages and requirements that must be met before one can drink alcohol. The Empire of Burgdalin's law states that humans must be at least 21 years of age before they can purchase alcohol, or consume it outside of their own home and without the presence of a parent or guardian.
Elves, Tieflings, Gnomes and most other races living in Burgdalin cannot purchase alcohol until they at least 21 years old. with the main exceptions being Dwarves and Dragonborn. Dwarves are naturally heavy drinkers with a high tolerance for alcohol, as such most Dwarves will begin drinking as young as 5 years old, because it does not have a substantial effect on them. Dragonborn can begin drinking at age 16.
The Theocracy of Rachelis bans the consumption of alcohol for recreational purposes outright. The only legal sale of alcohol within the region its for medicinal and religious purposes.
Devlutte is one of the most lax on alcohol consumption, but heavily taxes the sale of it. The drinking age for all humanoids in Devlutte is 16, with the only exceptions being Dwarves, Goblins and Kratins. Goblins and Kratins drinking age is lower in respect to when they reach maturity, and given how short their lives are in comparison to many other races. Within Devlutte the production of alcohol for commercial use requires a certification from The Wittebanes and a permit from the Devlutte Merchants Guild.
In Misteltal there is no formal legislation on the sale or consumption of alcohol, but culturally it is reserved those greater than 100 year, with those younger only being allowed partake in it during grand festivities.
