The clan of wood elves. These elves live in the the forests of Misteltal in large structures, grown out of living trees, and shaped with magic. These people are the most in touch with the forests of Misteltal, and are constantly wary of those who might disrupt the balance of their forest. Should a non-elf enter the forest the first to know will be the Morihito, who will dispatch warriors to stalk those whom entered. Should the person do something that would harm the forest the Morihito will engage them in battle to cause them to flee or to kill them.

The clan of sky elves. These elves live atop the peaks The Ever Cliffs in massive ancient fortresses, built by the giants who used to inhabit the mountains. Fitting to their name the Sorahito spend much or their time in the skies, riding the descendants of rocs tamed by the giants, this has lead to the Sorahito developing a tolerance to the intense cold and thin air of extreme heights. As part of a coming of age ritual these elves each have to tame a roc, that they will then spend much of their life with. This is due in part to the lifespan of the rocs, who can life upwards of 500 years, making them near lifelong companions for the Sorahito.

Already fleeing from the scattered corpses of humans and elves alike the militia would have been quickly flanked by the charging cavalry if not for the warriors of the Sorahito, flying down from their station high on the peaks they landed in The Field of Frozen Roses, inevitably resulting in some of the warriors and their rocs being added to the carnage. Hundreds of elves piled onto the massive avians and took to the skies in retreat as flaming balls and lighting were shot at them from the ground. They flew for hours to the ancient fortress city Belvenia to recuperate and devise their next move with the elders after this harrowing defeat.

After two long days of drawn out debates between the elders they came to a decision. They would station themselves here in the city and fight from the skies and walls. It would take about a week for the invaders to reach the fortress through the pass, all the while the Sorahito were performing aerial assaults on the army to dwindle their numbers, slow their march, and lead them to Belvenia. By the time the King Charles' forces had reached Belvenia they had lost about a third of their men and their food supplies had been greatly diminished.

Despite having lost so many men they still had more than double as many available fighters as the elves. Before King Charles launched an attack on the city he had his men prepare a weapon they had been keeping secret until now. A weapon that causes the very forest the elves hold so dear to wither and decay, only to rise back up and fight against them. The Decay.
